Camera Editing Task

Camera Editing Task

This is the first camera editing tasks that we did, we did it at school. My partner for this project was Yasmin Lyons. We filmed a scene at school – we were told that we had to be coming in different directions and that there had to be a collision. We decided to perform a high-five as our collision as it would be easier to film, rather than running into each other.

We fulfilled the task on my phone, I then downloaded the film onto my laptop and emailed it to myself – I then downloaded the file from my emails onto my school computer, and we then downloaded the file onto MoviePlus. MoviePlus is the school's editing software. Here we added an effect around the edge of our film, and added a title page to inform our audience what the task was. Our film is called 'School meeting'. The camera on my phone has a setting where you can pause and stop and start the filming as you go along, so – for this task – we did not need to edit lots of different shots together, however, I think we will be doing that in our next task.

In addition, we also filmed another film on my phone - we filmed this one in the woods in Stonesfield - it is meant to be like a small thriller film. However, we still need to edit the scenes and shots in this video, but we have downloaded the first two clips in the film that are audience-ready. These shots show good angles, good continuity editing, and have appropriate audio.

Myself and Yasmin also created a film trailer on iMovie, on my iPod. We filmed this piece in the woods in Stonesfield to give it an eerie effect: the trailer is a horror movie trailer. We tried to capture different emotions and atmospheres by using a variety of camera shots and editing skills. Admittedly, iMovie provided a good ready-made template that helped us create the advert.
